PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve an inconvenience of no operation of a conventional sewing machine even when a worker pedals further after sewing is finished in the sewing machine where sewing is started after a presser foot is lifted down by sequentially outputting a presser foot drive signal for lifting the presser foot down and a start signal of a main motor according to an operation position of an operation pedal and the presser foot is automatically lifted up after specified sewing is finished. SOLUTION: While the presser foot 12 being automatically lifted up after the specified sewing is finished, whether the operation pedal 5 is pedaled by a specified manipulated variableΔP or more or not is judged by a central processing unit CPU 34. In the case judgement as the specified manipulated variableΔP or more is pedaled, regardless of an operation position of the operation pedal, the presser foot 12 is lifted down and the sewing machine is started when the operation pedal 5 arrives in the specified position S where the main motor starts.
