The invention relates to a method and a corresponding device for functionally testing in a non-clamping manner single-track vehicles on a roller-type test stand comprising cylindrical, conical, or double-conical test rollers for measuring braking forces, speeds, and performances on wheels. According to the inventive method, an inclined position having an angle alpha is formed between the plane of rotation (3) of the wheel (1) that is to be tested and the test plane (2) in the roller-type test stand. A lateral guiding force (5) is created by the difference in angle to the test plane, the position of which deviates from the horizontal line by the angle alpha, causing the wheel (1) that is to be tested to rise and run laterally to a defined location comprising a stop roller (6) on which the measurements are taken and the wheel (1) that is to be tested is maintained in a stable position such that said wheel (1) is guided in a self-aligning manner without being fixed by hand or by using additional devices. In said stable position, in which the vehicle is only held manually as during comparatively normal use thereof, no effects that would have to be held or secured by means of additional devices are created due to the functional testing. |
