<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a projector which is integrated with an image reproducing part for reproducing a recording medium such as a DVD and a video tape, executes the stopping and the temporary stopping of the reproduction of the image reproducing part, starts the reproduction or the recording, and switches a projection screen projected from the projection part of the projector to the other screen. <P>SOLUTION: It is judged during the image reproduction whether a break switch is depressed or not. When the break switch is depressed, it proceeds to the next. When not depressed, it continues to keep the original state. When the reproduction of the recording medium D at the image reproducing part is temporarily stopped, the image is stopped at one scene and the reproduction of the sound is also stopped. A CPU makes a time measuring part measure the time of the temporary stopping on the basis of the signal of depressing the break switch. The measured time measurement data are stored in an RAM. Further, the image data of the guide image of an ROM or an EEPROM are read out.
