PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for displaying a feature of each route which makes a user easily grasp the geographical features, when a route is searched from a plurality of recommended routes. SOLUTION: In the method, a zone name/distance table is created, based on route data of a plurality of the searched recommended routes (step S10), each recommended route is considered as an object route (step S30), the object route including the longest distance zone is set as a focused route (step S40). The road name of the focused zone is registered with a adopted road name table (step S120, S130), and the feature of each recommended route is displayed, based on registered contents of the adopted road name table after the registered contents of all the recommended routes are determined (step S200).
