PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an easy method for selecting a desired video data file by simultaneously viewing multiple video data file displays. SOLUTION: Key frames are selected (402) from a video data file 100, and the video data file is segmented into one or more shot segments or scene segments (404). The video data file 100 includes a frame 102 corresponding to a shot or scene or a frame 104 corresponding to another shot or scene, and is divided into a first shot segment 502A and a second shot segment 502B.
