PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a short arc lamp without deterioration of convergence efficiency and change of light intensity distribution even after lighting for a long time, and capable of freely controlling a light irradiation direction or a light volume by adjusting a separation distance between a negative electrode and a positive electrode. SOLUTION: A second power-feeding member 6 of the short arc lamp is composed of a lamp main body fixing part 61, an electrode fixing part 62 and an intermediate adjustment part 63. The electrode fixing part 62 has a through hole 62a along an electrode axis, and another electrode 3 is penetrated into the through hole 62a with its rear-end part 3a protruded from the through hole. The lamp main body fixing part 61 has a through hole 61a along the electrode axis. The rear-end part 3a of the other electrode 3 is loosely fitted into one end side of the through hole, and a position adjustment member 8 for adjusting a position of the other electrode 3 is screwed at the other end side the through hole 61a.
