PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a data input device which prevents an erroneous input and is easy to be operated, and to provide a data input program. SOLUTION: The data input device includes steps of: displaying in parallel an input prompt column picture where a plurality of small items 601 are arranged vertically and sequentially and a data input column picture where a single input portion 602 for inputting the data of the content of one small item 601 selected from the input prompt column picture is arranged on a display portion; and, when a data input is defined with respect to the selected small item 601 selected from the input prompt column picture, storing the defined data defined with respect to the selected small item 601 into a database and moving the selected small item to the next small item and deleting the defined data from the display on the input portion. Furthermore, a combination of depressed states of function keys/control keys/escape keys/up and down and right and left arrow mark keys conducts switching between the small item 601 on the input prompt column and a group, and input data definition and the like.
