<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for initializing a multilayer recording layer type optical recording medium, the method being capable of uniformly initializing each layer including a recording layer. <P>SOLUTION: In the multilayer recording layer type optical recording medium 11, in which a plurality of layers L1 and L0 each including recording layers initialized by light irradiation are laminated in this order on one side of a substrate 2 and a spacer layer 12 is formed between the layers L1 and L0, one layer L0 among the plurality of the layers L1 and L2 in the recording medium 11 is initialized by being irradiated with light from the side of the layer L0 by using an objective lens 31 having a number of aperture NA which satisfies a formula "TH×NA≥9", wherein TH (μm) is the thickness of the spacer layer 12 adjacent to the surface of the substrate 2 on the L0 side. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
