PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inkjet recording head which can reduce the amount of usage of a sealing liquid applied to an ink ejection surface so as to prevent the drying of an ink ejection part and which can enhance the application performance and removal performance of the sealing liquid, and an image forming apparatus using the inkjet recording head. SOLUTION: A liquid-repellent treatment part 61 is formed in a near-nozzle area, which is brought into contact with an ejection port of a nozzle 51, of the ink ejection surface 60 of a nozzle plate 52, and a sealing-liquid-philic treatment part 62 having an affinity with the sealing liquid is formed in its outside peripheral area. The further outside periphery of the treatment part 62 also serves as a liquid-repellent treatment part 63. The sealing liquid 73, which is supplied to the surface 60, adheres to the treatment part 62, and the adhesion of the sealing liquid to the treatment part 61 is suppressed. The treatment part 62 is preformed only on the periphery of the nozzle 51, so that a meniscus 82 can surely be sealed with a smaller quantity of the sealing liquid than heretofore.
