摘要 <p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the moving picture re-encoding apparatus which has much flexibility in performing a special replay, an overlay processing and etc. that enable a digital connection between digital video systems employing different method, and which has high image quality and is at low cost. <P>SOLUTION: The apparatus in which a video decoder 16 decodes a moving picture coded data 52, an overlay processing part 18 performs an overlay processing of a sub video signal or a GUI picture signal to a video frame or a video field of a replayed moving picture signal 56 and a re-encoding part 28 re-encodes it. The re-encoding part 28 selects any one of coding modes for each macro block from among (a) a motion compensation prediction coding using a motion vector in the extracted coding parameters, (b) a motion compensation prediction coding using a motion vector 65 from outside, and (c) an intra-coding. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI</p>
