PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a refrigerator to an outer box of which a vacuum heat insulating material is easily attached, and that insulates heat of a radiating pipe by a vacuum heat insulating material, has high heat insulation effectiveness, and saves energy. SOLUTION: This refrigerator is provided with a side plate 11a forming a refrigerator outer box, a radiating pipe 14 arranged on the side plate 11a, and a vacuum heat insulating material 13 formed by processing a groove 15 through which the radiating pipe 14 passes. The width and depth of the groove 15 are greater than the diameter of the radiating pipe 14. The groove 15 has a trapezoid shape in cross section with an upper opening part wider than a bottom part. A position where the radiating pipe 14 is covered by the groove 15 to be layered is located closer to the front side of the outer box. Thus, workability and reliability of the vacuum heat insulating material 13 are improved, and the vacuum heat insulating material 13 is easily attached to the outer box. The heat of the heat radiating pipe 14 is insulated by the vacuum heat insulating material 13. Therefore, the box with high insulation effectiveness is realized. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
