PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect the interaction of a nucleic acid molecule with a factor such as a protein at a single molecule level. SOLUTION: This method for detecting the change in high dimensional structure of nucleic acid molecule is characterized by having a process for contacting a substantially linearly immobilized nucleic acid molecule with a factor for charging the high dimensional structure of nucleic acid molecule and a process for detecting the change in orientation of bonds forming base pairs in the nucleic acid molecule.
