The present invention relates to a method and system for displaying a map for navigation, wherein map information services having map-matching errors can be positively excluded when there is a difference between a user's position mapped into map data and the user's actual position. According to an embodiment of the present invention, there is provided a method for displaying a map for navigation on a mobile communication device, comprising the steps of receiving s GPS coordinate data of the mobile communication device from a predetermined GPS receiver; displaying map data stored in a storage means of the mobile communication device on a predetermined display means; map-matching the location of the mobile communication device on the map data to the display means by referring to the GPS coordinate data and the map data, and then displaying the map-matched location on the display means; and receiving a map matching order of compulsory secession from a user and controlling the mobile communication device to become a map matching standby state in response to the map matching order of compulsory secession. According to the present invention, there may be provided a method and system for displaying a map for navigation, which can positively exclude the map information services having map-matching errors, when there is a difference between a user's position on a map and the user's actual position. |
