PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recording/reproducing device, capable of restoring edited contents represented by program erasing on a recording medium, even after the recording medium in which recording information is edited is removed from the recording/reproducing device. SOLUTION: In an MD recorder capable of recording/playing a minidisk (MD) 10, having a program area 23 for recording main information by a program unit and a U-TOC area 22 for recording U-TOC information corresponding to each program recorded in the program area 23, and editing the program by changing the U-TOC information, an editing information recording means (MD control circuit 6) is provided for recording, in the MD 10, the information of U-TOC information between U-TOC information before a change and U-TOC information after the change, when the editing is executed; and an editing information restoring means (MD control circuit 6) is provided for restoring the U-TOC information recorded in the U-TOC area 22 to be the U-TOC information before the change.
