PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gas dryer that can be unerringly ignited, and blows out a large quantity of hot air during use as a hair dryer and is easy to use. SOLUTION: An operating switch (40) functions to supply power from a battery (14) to a motor (9)-driven fan (8), in association with the switching thereof from an off condition to an on condition, supply a raw gas from a gas cylinder (28) to a burner (5) by the opening of an opening and closing valve (21) and ignite the burner (5) by ignition mechanisms (6) and (23). A revolution speed control section (53) makes a mixed gas of a raw gas concentration suited for ignition exist in the vicinity of the burner (5) at the time of ignition and blows out a large quantity of warm air after ignition by controlling the fan (8) driven by the motor (9) so as to rotate it at a low speed when the off condition is switched to the on condition, and then at a high speed after an elapse of a fixed time.
