<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus having a simple protection mechanism of protecting a photoreceptor when an opening/closing member formed on one side wall of the image forming apparatus is opened, capable of reliably protecting the photoreceptor, and preventing paper transport from being interrupted by the protection mechanism in a state where the opening/closing member is kept closed. <P>SOLUTION: A strap 4a is stretched between a housing 1 and the opening/closing member 2, and a cover member 6 is attached to the strap 4a. When the member 2 is brought to an open position, the cover member 6 is moved to a position to cover the photoreceptor drum 3 and, on the other hand, when the member 2 is brought to a closing position, the cover member 6 is moved to a position to be stored. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
