The drive (1) has at least one motor (2), a shaft (3) and a bearing (4) that supports the shaft. Torque is transferred indirectly to the machine, whereby forces act on the bearing. The device has at least one sensor (6) for direct or indirect detection of the radial forces acting on the bearing relative to the shaft axis and an evaluation unit (7) for storing and/or indicating the detected values, whereby the sensor and the evaluation unit are connected together by a transfer arrangement (21). An independent claim is also included for a machine with a drive with an inventive device.
