TELEVISION SYSTEM CAPABLE OF EDITTING BROADCASTING SIGNAL AND A EDITTING METHOD THEREOF

A television system capable of editing a broadcasting signal and an editing method are provided to allow a user to freely edit a desired scene among a received broadcasting signal and easily edit a desired scene extracted among an image signal recorded on a recording medium. A television system comprises a display unit(107), a broadcasting signal receiving unit(101), a digital signal conversion unit(103), and an interfacing unit(105). The broadcasting signal receiving unit receives a broadcasting signal from a selected broadcasting channel. The digital signal conversion unit compresses the broadcasting signal received by the broadcasting signal receiving unit and converts the compressed broadcasting signal into a digital signal. The interfacing unit connected to an external computer transmits the digital signal converted by the digital signal conversion unit to the computer and receives the digital signal edited by the computer. The digital signal conversion unit decodes the digital signal received from the computer to be displayed on the display unit.
