[Also in Division D1] A liquid detergent bleach composition comprises (a) detergent, which may be a water. soluble alkali metal or alkaline earth metal alcohol sulphate, alkylaryl-sulphonate, metal alcohol ether sulphate or a tertiary amine oxide, (b) bleaching or oxidizing agent which is preferably sodium hypochlorite or lithium hypochlorite, (c) a hydrotrope which is an alkali metal or alkaline earth metal salt of a mono- or polyalkylated benzene or naphthalene sulphonate of which the alkyl groups contain 1-4 carbon atoms. The ratio of hydrotrope to detergent may be from 2:1 to 1: 2 by weight.
