LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY APPARATUS

An LCD(Liquid Crystal Display) is provided to sufficiently stabilize alignment of liquid crystal by forming a simple alignment control structure of spinning-shape inclination alignment only on one side of a substrate. The first substrate(1) is opposite to the second substrate(17). A vertical alignment type of a liquid crystal layer(20) is provided between the first and second substrates. Each of pixels includes the first electrode(6) formed on the first substrate, the second electrode(19) formed on the second substrate and the liquid crystal layer provided between the first and second electrodes. A wall structure(15) is regularly placed at the liquid crystal layer of the first electrode. When a predetermined voltage is applied to an LCD, the liquid crystal layer forms at least one liquid crystal domain that has an inclination alignment state of a spinning shape in an area substantially surrounded by the wall structure.
