The device has sensors (1, 2) each comprising an electric winding to generate an electromagnetic induction field, over which bicycles (3, 4) pass. A detection unit (5) detects self-induction variation produced by the passage of bicycle on the sensor. An analysis unit (6) selectively analyses the self-induction variation to identify self-induction variation produced by bicycle among variations produced by other vehicles.
