An extract of Eurya emarginata, and a composition comprising a compound isolated from the same extract are provided, which Eurya emarginata extract and compound isolated therefrom have antioxidative and anti-inflammatory activity, so that they can be useful in pharmaceutical composition and health food for prevention and treatment of diseases associated with inflammation. The composition for prevention and treatment of diseases associated with inflammation comprises the organic solvent extract of Eurya emarginata having antioxidative and anti-inflammatory activity as an effective component, and pharmaceutically acceptable carriers, wall materials or diluents, wherein the organic solvent is polar solvent including methanol, ethanol and butanol, nonpolar solvent including hexane, ethylacetate, acetone, chloroform and methylene chloride, and mixed solvents thereof. The composition for prevention and treatment of diseases associated with inflammation comprises Eutigoside of formula (I), and pharmaceutically acceptable carriers, wall materials or diluents, wherein R is H or OH; and the diseases associated with inflammation is rheumatic arthritis, asthma, acute pain, chronic pain, neuropatic pain, pain after operation, migraine, neuropathy, neural damage, irritable bowel syndrome, shock by endotoxin or inflammatory bowel disease.
