The traction motor has a coolant ring having teeth coupled to a stator (36). The teeth of the coolant ring are meshed with the coils (37) of the stator to cool and absorb reaction torque of the traction motor. A motor shaft is coupled to the rotor (32,34). The rotor is rotated by the magnetic field produced by the coils of the stator.
