A high strength polyvinyl alcohol fiber cord is characterized by twisting polyvinyl alcohol fiber with high tension to minimize deterioration of tenacity, preventing a RFL(resorcinol-formaline-latex) solution from infiltrating into a raw cord to increase fatigue resistance and relaxing the cord. The high strength polyvinyl alcohol fiber cord is capable of manufacturing a tire having excellent shape stability and operation stability. A dip cord for a tire cord is obtained by the steps of: (A) dissolving polyvinyl alcohol having 1500-7000 of polymerization and over 99.9mol% of saponification into dimethyl sulfoxide, followed by spinning the polyvinyl alcohol with a dry-wet type spinning method or a wet type spinning method; (B) drawing polyvinyl alcohol undrawn yarn in a draw ratio of over 15, followed by heating the polyvinyl alcohol drawn yarn; (C) manufacturing a raw cord out of the polyvinyl alcohol drawn yarn; and then (D) adhering an adhesive solution on a surface of a polyinyl alcohol raw cord. The dip cord has (1) over 10.0kg of adhesion(on rubber), (2) 14.0-35.0kg of breaking load, (3) 2000-6000denier of fineness, (4) at least 80% of fatigue resistance and (5) under 2% of shrinkage.
