PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce power consumption in a portable terminal device with TV video image display function. SOLUTION: A TV video image signal is converted into a digital signal by an A/D16d in an odd number field period of the TV video image signal and stored in a first RAM 16a. The field data are read from the first RAM 16a in an even number field, and are supplied to an LCD controller 18 and an LCD panel 20 to display the image. In the even number field, the A/D 16d is shifted to a standby state, and a restoration start time from the standby state is varied for each functional block of the A/D 16d.
