Computerized control circuit for internal combustion engine performs individual cylinder lambda regulation by controlling fuel injection for each cylinder for homogenous and stratified charge

The computerized control circuit performs an initial step (S1) for regulating the internal combustion engine. It controls fuel injection for each cylinder for homogenous (BH) and stratified lean mixture (BSCH) charge using two similar circuits working in parallel. The homogenous circuit performs individual cylinder lambda regulation (LRSEZ) - step (SH4) - and the lean mixture circuit equalizes the filling of each cylinder (ZGST) by measuring engine torque variations - step (SM4). The results from the two circuits are combined, to produce individual cylinder errors (SH8,SM8), and these values are combined to give an input signal (S9) for the first step.
