PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus for treating garbage, and the like that is capable of completely removing an odor in an exhaust gas. SOLUTION: This apparatus for treating garbage, and the like, is equipped with a deodorizing part 6 comprising a moisture removing means 7 to remove moisture in the exhaust gas generated in the garbage treatment apparatus, a heating means to heat the exhaust gas (a heater 11 for heating) on the downstream side, a high temperature catalyst 12 to decompose the odor on the downstream and a cooling means to cool the exhaust gas (an outside air suction fan 13, a cooler 14 to cool the exhaust gas) on the further downstream side.
