PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing device minimizing capacity of a data storing means used for threshold conversion, realizing a plurality of different dither matrices by using a common data storing means, and capable of enhancing flexibility in setting of an output gradation value by gradation conversion. SOLUTION: The image processing device is provided with a gradation conversion circuit 8 using a gradation value of each picture element of image data to be processed as an input gradation value, and converting the input gradation value into a predetermined output gradation value by dither processing based upon a multivalued dither matrix method. It is provided with a memory 12 storing gradation value data of a dither matrix to be used in the dither processing, an address generating circuit 11 generating an address for reading gradation value data corresponding to the input gradation value from the memory 12, a data storage change-over means for changing data storage methods when storing the gradation value data in the memory 12 in response to an output gradation set value defining a bit width of an output gradation value, and an address generation change-over means for changing address generating methods when generating an address by the address generating circuit 11 in response to the output gradation set value.
