PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technology of detecting a region which is not uniform in a halftone formation bitmap. SOLUTION: A technology which segments the halftone formation bitmap into a plurality of image tiles, compares each image tile with a corresponding halftone-formed reference pattern, and identifies it as the one comprising a uniform region by which halftone is formed if it is compatible with the corresponding reference pattern and detects a region which is not uniform in the halftone formation bitmap.
