PURPOSE: To provide an information memory medium and its reproducer which clearly displays sub-image information, without missing any part, in displaying main image information down-converted to a standard system, i.e. the main image information being adaptable to a high image quality system. CONSTITUTION: The memory medium 1 records the main image information in the HDTV system, first sub-image information in the HDTV system and second sub-image information in the SDTV system. The reproducer comprises an HD/SD down converter 207c for down-converting the main image information read from the memory medium 1 to image information in the SDTV system and an adder 207d for superposing the second sub-image information read from the memory medium 1 on the down-converted image information by the HD/SD down converter 207c.
