The method involves empirically determining a multiplicity of malfunctions and copying the individual malfunctions determined before by a suitable mathematical function with a parameter set for each case. Each parameter set contains in each case a multiplicity of different parameters. Individual parameters are transformed in all parameter sets into a range of values suitable for the modeling. A determination is made for the density function for each transformed and non-transformed parameter. The malfunctions are modeled by coincidental determination of the parameters on basis of the density functions belonging to the parameters and inserting in such a way parameters into the mathematical function. An independent claim is included for a computer program, and a data medium.
