A foot rest (1) has a spindle (2) fitted under a motor vehicle's dashboard (14). An arm with first (8) and second (12) parts has a bearing plate (10) on an end side and attaches with a linear swiveling movement to the spindle. An independent claim is also included for a motor vehicle seat for a co-driver with a foot rest.
