PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a seat belt buckle special for a racing car, solving the problem wherein a release lever comes into contact with the foot of a driver in its predetermined position to cause the inconvenience due to the driver's motion in driving a vehicle, and also the release lever is carelessly released in driving by the driver to release the seat belt unexpectedly so that in case of an accident, the driver is probably exposed to danger of death. SOLUTION: The seat belt buckle 1 special for the racing car includes: a casing 2 regulating at least one slot 5 engaged with an end member 6 of the seat belt for connection; a lock mechanism 7 accommodated in the casing 2 to releasably hold the end member 6; and the release lever 8 fitted to the casing and having a end part 12 operated from the stationary position along a passage in a driving plane to release the lock mechanism 7 from the end member 6 and projected from the casing 2 in the driving plane when the release lever is thus moved along the passage. Further, the buckle has a lever guard part 21 fitted to the casing and having a side surface. A virtual extension surface of the side surface extending in the vertical direction to the driving plane surrounds the end of the release lever put in the stationary position.
