PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a measuring instrument of the coefficient of dynamic friction which is fixed on a road surface to be measured to enable automatic measurement, made compact as a whole to enable the measurement at a narrow place, having sufficient rigidity in its friction measuring part, having a structure receiving no effect of dust and acquiring measured data of high precision. SOLUTION: This measuring instrument of the coefficient of dynamic friction has: the base frame (1) fixed and installed on the road surface; and the friction measuring part (A) composed of wheels (2) and a measuring road surface (G), and is constituted of: an axle (3) having the wheels (2) fixed thereto; an axle support frame (4) for pivoting the axle (3) in a freely rotatable manner; a first drive means (5) for driving the axle support frame (4) through a first drive force transmission means (6); a second drive means (7) for driving the wheels (2) through a second drive force transmission means (8) having a torque sensor (St) provided on the way thereof; a vertical load applying means (9) for applying vertical load to the wheels (2); and a control means (B) for operating the coefficient of dynamic friction of the friction measuring part (A).
