<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery capable of obtaining high discharge capacity. <P>SOLUTION: The nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery is composed of a negative electrode, a positive electrode, and a nonaqueous electrolyte. The positive electrode has a positive electrode activator formed by mixing elemental sulfur, a conductive agent, and a binder. The nonaqueous electrolyte contains calcium salt and lithium salt. Imide salt or sulfonate is used as the calcium salt for the nonaqueous electrolyte. The calcium salt may contain one kind out of bistrifluoromethane sulfonic acid imide calcium (((CF<SB>3</SB>SO<SB>2</SB>)<SB>2</SB>N<SB>2</SB>)Ca) and trifluoromethane calcium sulfonate ((CF<SB>3</SB>SO<SB>3</SB>)<SB>2</SB>Ca). <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
