<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a deodorizing method for contaminated air by which the efficiency for the deodorization by a photocatalyst is remarkably increased, and which is simple and inexpensive. <P>SOLUTION: This deodorizing method for resolving and removing odor materials contained in contaminated air by the photocatalyst performs the deodorizing treatment by the photocatalyst after making a relative humidity of the contaminated air 15% or lower by performing a heat-treatment for the contaminated air by a heating unit before the deodorizing treatment is performed. In concrete, the relative humidity of the contaminated air which enters the heating unit is measured by a humidity sensor, and the calorific value of the heating unit is controlled in response to an output of the humidity sensor.
