PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a tool for removing or fitting a screw without damaging the threads of a screw and a part. SOLUTION: A screw driver bit 1 is connected to the output end of a motor 2. The motor 2 is fixed to a slider 3, the speed of which is controllable, whereby the driver bit 1 can be moved forward and backward in the axial direction. The motor 2 and the slider 3 are controlled by a control device 4 including a microcomputer. The motor 2 and the slider 3 are started by pressing a switch not shown. The control device 4 calculates the moving distance of the screw 7 from the pitch of the thread 7a of the screw 7 and the total rotational frequency of the motor 2, and controls the motor 2 to stop rotation when the calculated value reaches a value previously designated according to the length of the screw 7.
