PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing an polyolefin, able to stably perform a continuous production without clogging of piping in a continuous vapor phase polymerization using an olefin polymerization catalyst by suppressing formation of massive, aggregated products or adhesion of polymer to a polymerization tank wall and an agitator blade, and provide a vapor phase polymerization apparatus. SOLUTION: (1) The method for producing the polyolefin is to feed a cooling circulation medium through the bottom and at least one port on the side face of a polymerization tank in a method for producing the polyolefin by using an olefin polymerization catalyst in a continuous gas phase polymerization. (2) The gas phase polymerization apparatus of the polyolefin is equipped with a mechanism for feeding the cooling circulation medium for feeding the medium through the bottom and at least one port on the side face of the polymerization tank in the gas phase polyolefin polymerization apparatus equipped with a monomer feed pipe, a polymer discharge pipe and, if needed, an agitation blade.
