PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for erection of an exterior elevator capable of safely, surely and efficiently performing an operation for hoisting an exterior elevator body with a crane without a risk for colliding with peripheral buildings, heavy equipments, and the like. SOLUTION: A receiving stand 2 supporting a base side 1b of an exterior elevator body 1 at a horizontal posture is equipped with a hinge mechanism 3 rotatably pivoting a lower end 9a of a an iron reinforced column 9 of the exterior elevator body 1, and its base frame 2a is fixed on a ground. A peak side 1a of the exterior elevator body 1 is hoisted and rotated to build the exterior elevator body 1 in an vertical posture. Thereafter, pivoting of the hinge mechanism 3 of the receiving stand 2 is released and moved to a predetermined position, and an inlet/outlet of the exterior elevator body 1 is communicated and fixed to a platform of each floor of the building.
