Mode changing facsimile installation - has controller connecting I=O devices to audio or digital line with engaged memory

A telephone line (3c) and a digital line (4c) are associated with respective control units (3,4) controlling transmission over data over them. Input (1) and output (5) printers provide data input and output. A mode change controller (2) switches over the control units to connect the data input and output devices to one of the two units. - The controller sends out a command signal to enable the resp. control unit, and a display indicates the mode selected. Pseudo input and output devices are connected to the unselected controller. A store retains data from the other controller when the printer is already occupied with a first controller.
