The invention relates to a process for separating C5 and C6 n-alkanes from gasoline fractions, by selective adsorption on molecular sieves, followed by the desorption thereof by changing the pressure in the adsorption stage and entraining the C5 and C6 n-alkanes by using a desorption agent, the adsorption and desorption stages lasting the same time. The invention also relates to the installation for carrying out the process, comprising two circuits, one circuit for the adsorption of C5 and C6 n-alkanes from gasoline fractions and a second circuit for the desorption of C5 and C6 n-alkanes kept on the molecular sieve.
