A drilling element driven by a rotary drive (12) fits on a mast (14) with a main mast (16) and a moving mast (15) so to rotate on and slide along the mast. A twisting device (30) has a split chuck twisted by an adjusting cylinder and fastens on the mast. It can also engage with the drilling element for torque support. The split chuck has two gripping claws. An independent claim is also included for a method for feeding a drilling equipment's drilling element into the ground.
