A device for adjusting position and maintaining a function according to lifting of an upper structure of a bridge, and a construction method thereof are provided to restrict over-turning and drop of a slab and a girder by exactly settling the slab and the girder on a bridge seat with moving horizontally the slab and the girder. A device for adjusting position and maintaining a function according to lifting of an upper structure of a bridge(10) is composed of vertical and horizontal support brackets(34,40) and installed at the lower and lateral sides of a girder(12) mounted at a pier and an abutment. The girder is lifted upward by a vertical hydraulic jack(31) installed at the vertical support bracket. And then, the girder is pushed to the left or right side and moved horizontally by a vertical reaction frame(41) integrally connected with a horizontal support plate(43) and installed at the side of the girder while moving the horizontal support plate to the left or right side by a horizontal hydraulic jack(32) disposed at the horizontal support bracket.
