An electronic window heater for motor vehicles comprises microwave radiation with high-intensity focusing on the screen edge, either directly of via a waveguide. The radiation then penetrates the window and warms it. An independent claim is also included for a heater as above in which the screen comprises microwave-absorbing material or the frequency is optimized for heating.
