The vehicle cladding component has a frame section (1) and an insert (2) held in a positive fit, which are bonded together by ultrasonic welding at the positive fit joint at least in zones. The welding action is on the side of the insert away from the frame. The frame is produced by injection molding, and the insert is a nonwoven fabric.
