<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a card processing device capable of quickly shifting to a process subsequent to the process of an SF card or the like even in the event of trouble during the latter process. <P>SOLUTION: The card processing device 1 uses a computing part 22 to calculate update information for updating information on a magnetic card on the basis of process information read by a card mechanism 7 from the magnetic card. The update information is stored in a storage part 21 as processed magnetic information 32. Information on the magnetic card is written over the stored processed magnetic information 32 by the card mechanism 7. Should trouble occur during the process of the magnetic card, the card processing device 1 controls the card mechanism 7 to reread the information stored on the magnetic card to compare this information with the information stored in the storage part 21.
