PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a navigation system capable of evading misrecognition of the position of own vehicle by notifying the driver of the variation of the positioning precision capable of navigational operation without display screen. SOLUTION: The navigation system comprises the positioning means for detecting the present position of the vehicle, the voice output means for informing a user of the information on present position with the voice, the precision of position detection means for calculating the positioning precision, the positioning precision information means for informing the user of the positioning precision, and the control means for controlling the precision of positional information means based on the positioning precision signal. By this constitution, the information of present position acquired by the positioning means is informed by the voice message, and the user is informed of the precision of the positioning by the positioning precision information means.
