The invention relates to an anti-implosion device for a cathode ray tube, in which the cathode ray tube comprises an anti-implosion band consisting of at least three different layers (201, 202, 203). The aforementioned band structure can be used to reduce and harmonise the residual mechanical stresses remaining after the band has been positioned on the tube.
