PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a change in the number of rotations of a turntable even if a potter separates his body from a pedal device in a potter's wheel equipped with the pedal device capable of controlling the number of rotations of the turntable. SOLUTION: This pedal device 9 is provided so as to control the rotation of the turntable 3 of the potter's wheel 1 and equipped with a housing part 11, a shaft 31, an operation pedal 13 and a friction member 17. The shaft 31 is arranged so as to pierce the housing part 11. The operation pedal 13 is mounted on the housing part 11 so as to be freely revolved around the shaft 31 along with the shaft 31 to alter the number of rotations of the turntable 3 corresponding to the relative angle with the housing part 11.
