PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To implement a variety of applications in consideration of taste of programs more effectively as compared with a conventional case. SOLUTION: An information management device holds a category item corresponding information in accordance with electronic program guide information with different regulation of category classification of programs. In the category item corresponding information, the category item of the program corresponding to the category classification for each electronic program guide information is associated with a previously set common category item. When the designation of the program by an operation of recording reservation, as an example, from programs indicated by the electronic program guide information, the common category item corresponding to the designated program is specified.
